The mouse cursor hovers over the second option, then suddenly moves and clicks on the bottom one. It has been a few weeks since the latest patch added that option, and now is as good a time to test it as any.

A year.

It has been a whole year since you last played. Every time you turn on the computer, your mouse is invariably drawn to the icon right in the bottom left corner, the one simply marked 'Game'. Just as invariably, you never click, although you can't bring yourself to uninstall it either.

If anyone had asked, you would have told them that you were waiting for the v2.10 patch. Which was true, until said patch was finally released a week ago, and you still haven't been able to bring yourself to play it since.

You wonder idly, as you always do, if you should just take a quick peek...

Then the chat window beeps, and your attention is drawn back to the rest of the screen.

[ DarkRabbit has joined conversation ]
[ Kirandra has joined conversation ]

.
[ DarkRabbit ] you said you'd play
[ DarkRabbit ] once the new patch came out
[ DarkRabbit ] well, it's been a week
[ DarkRabbit ] which server are you on?
[ DarkRabbit ] oi
[ DarkRabbit ] there?
[ DarkRabbit ] helloooo?
[ Kirandra ] ah
[ Kirandra ] yeah. sorry
[ Kirandra ] went afk for a bit
[ Kirandra ] uh
[ Kirandra ] busy right now
[ DarkRabbit ] come on
[ DarkRabbit ] you finished the game, right?
[ DarkRabbit ] then it's just the epilogue left to watch
[ DarkRabbit ] not even five minutes

Well...
If it's just an animated cutscene...

But then you remember what your 'finishing the game' entailed, and you quickly enter a response.

[ Kirandra ] i got bad end
[ Kirandra ] remember?
[ Kirandra ] so i have to replay
[ DarkRabbit ] new patch has bad end cutscenes too
[ DarkRabbit ] it's on youtube already

Somehow, the idea of watching those cutscenes don't quite appeal to you... still, you reason, it's just an animated sequence. And you have Alt+F4...

Oh, just do it already. Double-clicking the icon, you wait for the game to launch.

And it's loading... and still loading... and there, it's done. Feeling rather apprehensive, you settle yourself properly into your chair.

A quick Alt+Tab later, the chat window is back open.

[ Kirandra ] ???
[ DarkRabbit ] oh
[ DarkRabbit ] you didn't know?
[ DarkRabbit ] it's a bug fix
[ DarkRabbit ] some people complained
[ DarkRabbit ] so they changed it
[ Kirandra ] ah

Somehow, you feel relieved, even though it's just a game patch.

[ DarkRabbit ] so
[ DarkRabbit ] going to replay?
[ Kirandra ] nah
[ Kirandra ] fine with this end
[ Kirandra ] not bad end can already
[ Kirandra ] besides
[ Kirandra ] too troublesome

Blinking bemusedly, you click the 'Quit Game' button.

That wasn't what you had expected at all, but it was interesting all the same.
